Today Marley is six weeks old and it is hard to believe how quickly time has gone by. Our level of exhaustion has become our permanent state of being and we are okay with it…our little guy is worth it and the late night snuggles are adorable.
When reflecting on the last six weeks, it is quite amazing how a woman’s body can change in six weeks after childbirth. I recognize that every mother’s postpartum journey is very different, and I am amazing by the fact that the body can recover and recuperate from such an event in such a short amount of time. While my energy levels are not the same (thanks to sleepless nights), my body is physically ready and able to resume all physical activity. I was cleared by my doctor to move forward with yoga-like activity after week one and last week I was cleared to resume all activity. To me, this meant I could get back to taking/teaching my spin and HIIT classes. After a week of easing back into things, I am 100% ready to get back in the saddle and keep up with my fitness regime. Over the past month and half I have learned how to respect my body and give it the rest it needs. When the time was right, I needed a little bit of motivation (and caffeine) to dive back in and get my groove back. I am happy to be back in action. See you all at LIFT!
